TEHRAN

February, 2010

On Wednesday 4th of February hundreds of family members of political prisoners gathered in front of EVINS Prison.

At this gathering, witnesses said, more than 800 family members of political prisoners and other people demanded releasing of political prisoners.

 SAAD ABADS Palace workers and municipality employees went on strike to protest non-payment of wages on February 3rd. The staffs wages of this city hall have not been paid for five months. The strikers have announced that they would maintain to their strike until their suspended salaries are paid.

Political prisoners families protested in front of the EVINS PRISON again on 8th of February. Its said that the regime officials were forced to release numbers of prisoners. One of released prisoners, witnesses reported, is a lady named PARVANEH MADAH-RAD.

Nobody has any information about 3 arrested journalists who have been detained since a few weeks ago. VAHID POOR-OSTAD, AKBAR MOTAJABI and EHSAN MEHRABI are the 3 journalists that have been transferred to an unknown location.

Attorney of HENGAMEH SHAHIDI confirmed the Tehran courts sentence which has been issued against this journalist and womens activist. She has been accused of illegal activities against the regime. According to news HENGAMEH SHAHIDI has been sentenced to six years imprisonment.

MANSOUR OSANLOO, Chairman Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company and AFSHIN BAYMANI were transferred to GOHARDASHT Prison on 10th of February. On that day, they were also interrogated for a long time.

On 22nd of February, MANSOUR OSANLOO was attacked in GOHARDASHTS PRISON.

According to published report, when Mr. OSANLOO was talking with two more prisoners a prisoner rushed him with a razor.

We have to say that Mr. OSANLOO has been beaten by the prison officials for several times.

On Thursday, 25th of February, after gathering of prisoners family and residents of Tehran in front of the EVINS Prison, 12 political prisoners in addition to SOMAYEH RASHIDI, college student and women activists, were released. Names of the twelve released persons have not been reported yet.   

 

 


THE COORDINATING COMMITTEE

The Coordination Committee condemned detention of MAJID HAMIDI, worker activist, by a statement on February, 1st. This worker activist has been arrested for a few months. Its said that however he was supposed to be released in the past weeks, but the regime judiciary system does not want to free him. Mr. HAMIDI had already been shot by the regime forces too.


THE ALBORZ TIRE FACTORY

31/02/2010

As the result of widespread protests of the ALBORZ Tire workers, nine expelled representatives of the factorys labors appeared at their workplace again. Those representatives had been fired on 9th of January.


BEEN ROO COMPANY

February, 2010

According to the Free Union of the Iranian Workers, labors of a company named BEN ROO went on strike because their salaries have not been paid for 4 months. The strikers have announced that they would continue to their strike until the delayed wages are paid. The BEEN ROO is a car-maker company.


LORESTAN PROVINCE

 A congressman named REZA RAHIMI said that people of the above-mentioned province have faced poverty and unemployment. He added that unemployment rate has risen in this state. On the basis of reports thousands of people have been unemployed since the past months.


ARRESTING IS STILL CONTINUING IN IRAN

The regime judiciary system and security officials pressured university students during the past weeks. 

We were informed that a college student in the name of ALBORZ MAHBOB-KHAH was arrested and transferred to an unknown location. Three more students in the names of MILAD ASADI, SOHAIL MOHAMMADI and ALI PARVIZI had been arrested before. These students study at KHAJEH NASIR University.


WAGON FACTORIES

09/02/2010

 Several wagon makers were shut down and four hundred labors, who worked for those wagon makers, were unemployed because of unpaid the government dues.

Those unemployed labors asked for going back to work, but nothing has been done regarding the labors request.


ILAM PROVINCE

08/02/2010

On Monday 8th of February, a regime representative parliament (congressman) would confess that unemployment rate in ILAM province has reached to the top 25 percent. We have to say that the unemployment rate goes up in Iran every year.


A WOMAN ARRESTED

08/02/2010

On February 8th, MARYAM GHANBARI, lawyer and woman's movement, was arrested in her place by the security forces. Proposed charges against her are not still announced. Its said that in recent days at least 50 students, journalists and political activists have been arrested in different parts of Iran.


A LABOR ARRESTED

09/02/2010

On 10th of February a worker activist named MOHAMMAD ASHRAFI was arrested at his home by the security forces.

MOHAMMAD ASHRAFI had already been sentenced to one year imprisonment because of participating in ceremony of the May first.

 

 


HAFT TAPEH COMPANY

10/02/2010 

According to published reports, four leaders of the HAFT TAPEH Sugar Company were released. GORBAN ALIPOUR and MOHAMMAD HAIDARI were released, after spending part of their sentence. FEREYDOON NIKO-FARD and JALIL AHMADI were also released conditionally. These worker activists had been arrested at about four months ago.


ESFAHAN METAKS COMPANY

More than 80 factory workers who work for the above-mentioned company, gathered in front of the companys office on 28th of February. Its said that these labors have not got any wages for seven months. This company is located in the city of Esfahan.

 


CITY OF MAHABAD

28/02/2010:

Report says that nobody has any information about three arrested people in the names of DIAKO AFSHARLOO, ANVAR NORI-POOR and KARIM MAM-KARIMI. These persons were arrested after a conflict between the governments forces with a few armed men around the city of SARDASHT.


A LABOR KILLED

23/02/2010

 

On the basis of received news which was sent by a fire-station, a 55-year- old labor lost his life as the result of falling into a pit. This labor was from Afghanistan. Its said another labor who wanted to help his coworker, was wounded. This event took place in KHORASAN Province.

 


IRANS INSURANCE COMPANY

26/02/2010

The coordinating committee reported that the Irans Insurance Company fired its 350 employees.

Its said that the Iranian government owes this insurance company, but it doesnt want to pay its dues. The companys employers said, We were obliged to fire our employees because the government has not made any payment.

 

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SECURITY

01/03/2010

Hundreds of the Social Securitys employees protested on March 1st. a reliable source reported that wages of these protesters have not been paid for a few months.

The protesters announced that they will protest again if this organization doesnt pay the delayed wages.


MAZANDARAN PROVINCE

01/03/2010

MOHAMMAD YOUSEF RASHIDI, socialist student, has gone on hunger strike for several times. This leftist college student is in jail.

MOHAMMAD was arrested at his fathers place by the regime security forces 3 months ago.


CITY OF OSHNAVIEH

28/02/2010

The coordinating committee reported that after arresting of a worker activist named FATAH SOLIMANI three more activists in the names of RAHMAN EBRAHIM-ZADEH, RAHMAN TANHA and ISA EBRAHIM-ZADEH were arrested by the security officials in the above-mentioned city.


A LEFTIST ACTIVIST SENTENCED TO JAIL

A student activist named ALI KANTOORI has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the regime judiciary system.

This leftist college student had already been sentenced to 32 months imprisonment by a court in the city of SANANDAJ in 2008.


BANDAR ABBAS REFINERY

25/02/2010

According to news at least 6 hundred labors of this refinery have been striking to protest unpaid wages since 19th of February. The protesters wages have been delayed for 5 months.

After beginning of the strike the companys owner promised to pay some of the delayed salaries, but the strikers did not accept that offer and they continued to their strike. Witnesses said that the regime forces have lined up in front of the companys gate.


CITY OF BABOL

25/02/2010

The regime judiciary system has sentenced 7 university students to imprisonment. On the basis of news, IMAN SEDGHI, MOHSSEN BARZEGAR, and NIMA NAHVI have been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment and also they have been deprived from studying for one year. Besides, 4 more students in the names of Ali TAGHI-POOR, SIAVASH SALIMI NEZHAD, HAMID REZA JAHAN-TIGH and HESAM BAGHERI have been sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.


LONG DISTANCE COMMUNICATIONS COMPANY

Labors and employees of Long Distance Communications Industries gathered in front of governors office of Fars Province on February 24th. We were informed that more than 6 hundred labors had joined the protest. The protesters said that their salaries have not been paid for 13 months.


KURDISTAN PROVINCE

The ministry of security has called families of exiled politicians and social activists in the whole Kurdish cities. According to news the regime officials requested those families to send pictures, phone numbers and other information about their children and relatives to the ministry of security.



KERMAN PROVINCE

18/02/2010

A state news agency reports that at about one-hundred eighty labors that were working for BAFTEGANS spinning, blocked road of Kerman on Sunday 18th of February, 2010.

This company has been shut down and whole its labors have been unemployed.


NEW REPRESSIONS WAVE OF LEFTIST ACTIVISTS

February, 2010

News says that the Islamic regime security forces have arrested a large numbers of political activists. These Islamist security forces have detained YASHAR DARALSHAFA sociology student at Tehran University along with two more students in the names of KAVEH DARALSHAFA and TOURAN KABIRI. Also MAZIAR SAMIEI and another Leftist student have been arrested in their home.


VICTORY OF A STRIKE

February, 2010

Following a two-day strike at SAFAS TUBE Factory, finally the factorys employer was forced to withdraw and pay parts of delayed wages.

After the successful strike of one thousand-three hundred workers of this company, the labors said. If our employer didnt pay the whole suspended wages, we would go on strike again in the next month.


THE IRANIAN WRITERS ASSOCIATION

February, 2010  

The Iranian Writers Association supported ALIREZA SAGHAFI, worker activist and member of the above-mentioned Association. Mr. SAGHAFI was arrested a few weeks ago. 

Those Writers of Iran, meanwhile expression their worries about the fate of Ali Reza SAGHAFI, they also advised the Islamic regime to immediate release of all political and ideological prisoners.


CITY OF PAVEH

A businessman named REZA KHALEDI was shot and killed by the frontier officials around the city of PAVEH.  

According to news, the regime forces kill and wound many of hardworking people in western borders of Iran every year.


MOBAREKEH STEEL FACTORY

23/02/2010

Numbers of factory labors, who are working for MOBAREKEH Steel Factory, went on hunger strike to protest reducing their wages for two days.

The strikers have declared that they would go on hunger strike again, if the Iranian officials didnt take care of their demands.


DENA RAH-SAZAN COMPANY

23/02/2010

At about 8 hundred labors of this company who are making highway of SAVEH-HAMADAN, have been striking to protest delayed wages since 23rd of February. The strikers wages have been suspended for four months. These protesters are going to continue to their strike until their demands are completely paid.  

Witnesses said, The Companys labors had gone on strike during the past months too.


CITY OF AHWAZ

The regime security forces arrested 4 political activists at the AHWAZ Airport on 26th of February. These arrested persons are members of an opposition party named PAN IRANIST PARTY.
